Unlike the original XLERATOR, the lower amperage of the ECO unit allows several XLERATOReco units can be installed on one 20 Amp circuit. The XL-GR-ECO has a one-piece, vandal resistant, rustproof cover made of die-cast zinc alloy. All exposed surfaces of the cover are finished with textured Graphite, chip-proof epoxy paint that has been electrostatically applied. The 5/8 HP motor is automatically activated by an infrared sensor; dryer operates as long as hands are under the air outlet. An air velocity of 16,000 linear feet per minute is produced at hand level (4 in. below nozzle). Mounting hardware and instructions included. SPECIFICS: In 2014, the Excel Dryer Co. introduced the XLERATOReco hand dryer - the first XLERATOR hand dryer capable of drying the user’s hands in 15 seconds while only using 500 Watts of energy. The motor is variable speed; meaning it can be set to any speed between fastest to slowest. Sound decreases as speed is reduced & dry time increased. With this one variable, the owner can customize the air flow, dry time, sound volume, and energy consumption to fit any application environment. The speed control is accessible only when the cover is removed. In addition, this newest generation of XLerators includes a washable metal mesh filter for more reliable performance. A smart filter sensor is activated should the filter become clogged & is indicated by a visible red LED light. There are five (5) different XLERATOReco models. The internals components and performance of all five are identical. The only difference in the XLERATOReco models is the material and appearance of the cover. Specific to the Model XL-GR-ECO, a zinc alloy is used to form the one-piece, die-cast heavy-duty, vandal-resistant cover. This light weight cover is both rustproof and unbreakable. All exposed areas of the cover are coated with chip-proof, electrostatically-applied graphite (dark gray) epoxy enamel with a slightly textured finish. Two tamper-resistant, chrome plated bolts secure the cover to the wall plate/motor base. The XLerator uses a powerful “series commutated through-flow discharge vacuum motor/blower” design. At this highest speed, a sound level of 80 to 81 dB is generated by the deflection of the high-speed air flow off the user’s hands (but the variable speed motor can be dialed down to the where the sound best suits the owner's preference & installation environment). Dry time is an amazing 15 seconds, which is 2 X faster than standard 30-second hand dryers. But the actual length of the run cycle is determined by the user. The motor and the NiChrome heating element are activated by an infrared optical sensor, and as soon as the user's hands are removed from under the unit, the drying cycle is terminated. The XLERATOReco does not have the standard heating element found in the original XLERATOR. Nevertheless, the air flow is heated to some degree by the friction and compression within the unit.
